RHETT GERVAIS
FOUNDER RUM BABY STUDIOS
THE MAN BEHIND THE VISION
Rhett Gervais is a Canadian author, speaker, and filmmaker, and the founder of Rum Baby Studios. He is best known for his Amazon best-selling historical fantasy series The Last Witch of Rome, a cinematic story world that blends ancient history with myth, power, and survival.
In addition to his work in fantasy, Rhett is the creator of the dystopian science fiction series Children of the Spear, expanding his storytelling into darker, future-driven narratives. His writing is defined by a strong visual sensibility, with stories built not only for the page, but with adaptation to screen in mind.
In 2019, Rhett was a TEDx speaker, where he explored the cultural and societal impact of cable news, examining how modern media shapes perception, division, and public discourse.
Building on the success of his books, Rhett is now the writer and director of The Last Witch of Rome television series, bringing the story into a fully realized cinematic format. Through Rum Baby Studios, he is focused on independent, creator-driven production — developing projects across books, film, and digital platforms.
His work sits at the intersection of literature and film, with a focus on immersive worldbuilding, strong visual storytelling, and the creation of original intellectual property designed to move seamlessly between mediums.
